Hippocrepis scabra DC., it is an erect perennial sub shrub woody, much branched base, up to 40 cm tall. Leaflets (5-) 7-19, oblong-obovate to ± elliptic, pubescent beneath, 3-12 x 1-5 mm. Peduncles 2-5 times as long as the subtending leaves, terminally 2-8-flowered. Flowers c. 1 cm long, yellow, shortly pedicelled. Calyx c. 3 mm long. Corolla c. 3 times as long as the calyx. Claw of the standard much exceeding the calyx. Pods 12-25 x (2-) 3-5 mm, brown, with broad, flat regions between the seed protuberanees, ± densely white papillose particularly on the seed protuberances.  Life Form: N.Ph,   Flowering in: Feb-Mar,   Vern:—————,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Spain.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
