Lathyrus annuus L., it is an annual from 40 cm to 1 meter, glabrous. Stems winged at the top, climbing. Leaves with narrowly winged petioles, 1 pair of linear-lanceolate leaflets, 6-15 cm long, very branchy tendrils, stipules linear-acuminate. Flowers yellow to orange, quite large (12-14 mm), 1-3 on peduncles shorter than or equal to the leaf. Calyx with teeth equal to the tube, straight style, twisted on its axis. Pods measuring 6 cm by 1, broadly linear, canaliculated on the back, veined in a network, glabrous. Seed 6-8 subglobose or cubical, c. 4-5 mm, dark-brown.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-Jun,   Vern:———-,   Phytochoria: MED+IT, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, Medit. to W. & Central Asia.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
