Lathyrus clymenum L., it is an annual plant 30-80 cm, glabrous, winged, climbing stems. Lower leaves simple, linear-lanceolate, the middle and upper ones with 2-4 pairs of linear or elliptical-oblong leaflets, with branching tendrils, stipules lanceolate. Purpurine flowers with blue wings, quite large (15-20 mm), 2-5 on peduncles equal to or exceeding the leaf, standard longer than the wings, with 2 bumps at the base, aristated style. Pods up to 55 mm long, glabrous, often pigmented, dorsally carinated, provided with (4–)6–8 seeds. Seeds 3.9 – 4.71 x 3.75 – 3.85 x 3 – 3.25 mm, slightly compressed, ocher-brown, finely dotted with black, variable in shape depending on their position in the pod: ±quadrangular in outline, those located in the middle due to the pressure exerted by the adjacent seeds; ± broadly ovate-truncated at both ends. Densely papillose surface. Thread 1.75–2.5 x 0.3 mm, linear, with a well-defined ridge around it, only interrupted at the micropillar end, occupying c. 1/5 of the circumference of the seed. Lens noticeable, prominent, brown in color, with the central elevation located 0.75–0.9 mm from the thread.
