Lotus gebelia Vent., it is a perennial herb, glaueescent, glabrous to sub hirsute, up to 50 cm long, erect or ascending, much branched. Upper 3 leaflets obliquely ohovate-oblong, shortly apiculate, lower pair ovate, acute, and smaller than the others. Peduncles 2-3 times as long as the subtending leaves, 2-6-nowered in a head, bracts 1-3, unequal, like leaflet but smaller, ± equaling the calyx. Flowers pink, or reddish (rarely white), c. 1.5 cm long. Calyx campanulate, teeth ± as long as the tube, acute sub equal. Corolla about twice as long as calyx, standard conspicuously exceeding the wings and keel, obovate, keel with straight erect beak, limb rounded at the back and about as long as the claw. Pods usually 20 – 40 x 2.5 – 3 mm, terete, usually torulose on the valves, many-seeded, (rarely I or few seeded due to abortion). Seeds, c. 1.5 mm in diam, darkish. Life Form: Ch, Flowering in: Mar- Apr, Vern:————, Phytochoria: IT, The native range of this species is E. Medit. to Iran. Notes: Wild in Libya.
