Lotus hirsutus L. / Homotypic Synonyms:  Dorycnium hirsutum (L.) Ser., it is a subshrub, bushy of 20-50 cm, hairy-cottony; stems woody at the base, lying or straightened, cylindrical. Leaflets and stipules similar, narrowly oblong in corner, hairy-wooly. Flowers large, 5-10 in loose heads on peduncles longer or shorter than the leaf, pedicels much shorter than the calyx. Calyx almost 2-lipped, with unequal teeth. Corolla 1 time longer than the calyx, standard and wings of white tinged with pink, black-purple hull. Pods few in number, short, ovoid-oblong, swollen, mucronate, and little beyond the calyx, with non-twisting valves, 2-4 seeds.  Life Form: Ch,   Flowering in:—————,   Vern:————-,   Phytochoria: MED,  The native range of this species is Medit.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
