| Plantago notata Lag., it is an annual acaulescent herb with rosette leaves, 2.5-10 cm tall. Leaves sessile. 2-14 x 0.2-1.6 cm, linear-lanceolate, entire or remotely lobed, 3-5-veined, sparsely or densely hirsute. Scapes 1.2-7 cm long, terete, appressed-pubescent, spikes 1.6-3.5 cm long., dense, ovate-cylindrical. Bracts 2.5-3 mm long, ovate-orbicular, villous on keel, long ciliated at apex. Sepals e. 2 mm long, ovate obtuse, long ciliate at apex. Corolla tube c. 2 mm long, glabrous, lobes 1.5 mm long, ovate-orbicular, buff coloured with a brown spot in the throat, obtuse. Style long, filiform, exserted. Capsule 2-5 mm long, broadly rotund. Seeds 2. c. 2 mm long, cymbiform. Life Form: Th, Flowering in: Mar-Jul, Vern:————, Phytochoria: MED+IT , The native range of this species is SE. Spain, N. Africa to Iran and Arabian Peninsula. Notes: Wild in Libya.
