Spergularia flaccida (Madden) I.M.Turner /  Heterotypic Synonyms: Spergula fallax (Lowe) E.H.L.Krause, it is an annual glabrous, with erect or ascending stems, much-branched at the base. Leaves linear-subulate, stipules scarious. Sepals 5, free, lanceolate, green with scarious margin; petals 5, white, ovate, entire shorter than the sepals; styles 3. Capsule exceeding the sepals, dehiscing by 3 valves.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Jan-Apr,   Vern:———,   Phytochoria: SA+IT, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, N. Africa to Mauritania, Sicilia (Linosa) to NW. India and NE. Tropical Africa.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
