Lotus edulis L., it is an annual herb up to 10-40 cm, not very hairy, ascending or diffuses. Leaflets obovate or oblong in corners, glaucous, stipules broadly oval, extending beyond the petiole. Yellow flowers, large, 1-2 on peduncles 2-3 times longer than the leaf. Calyx bell-shaped, with equal teeth, lanceolate-linear, twice as long as the tube, orbicular standard; wide, curved hull. Pods 20-30 mm, very thick, fleshy, leathery at the end, cylindrical, arched, deeply canaliculated at the upper edge, 2-celled, with large seeds.   Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Feb-May,   Vern:————-,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Medit.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
