Lotus jolyi Batt., it is a perennial herb, appressed – pubescent, with elongated branches from the base. Stems hollow, Leaflets (upper and lower) closely placed oblong-oyate. Peduncles 2-3 (4) times as long as the subtending leaves, terminating into 1-3-flowered heads, often deflexed in fruits sub tending bract leaflet-like, 3, smaller than calyx. Flowers large. c. 13 (-15) mm long. brown or purple-yellow. 2-coloured. Calyx-teeth exceeding the tube, linear subulate, very acute, almost equal. Standard and wings brown-violaceous, slightly exceeding the wings and keel. Keel yellow, narrowed into a beak, obtuse or rounded al the back. Pods 20-25 x 2 mm. straighl, ± deflexed from the peduncle, many seeded.  Life Form: Ch,   Flowering in:——————,   Vern:————–,   Phytochoria: SA, The native range of this species is Sahara.    Notes: Wild in Libya.
