Medicago coronata (L.) Bartal., it is an annual herb up to 10-25 cm, slender, ascending or erect, pubescent. Leaflets small, obovate in corner, serrated at the top, stipules entire or toothed at base. Yellow flowers, very small, 3-8 on capillary peduncles, not awned, 1-2 times longer than the leaf, pedicels shorter than calyx tube, wings shorter than the hull. Pods pubescent, very small, discoid, with concave faces, veined in a network, with 2 whorls spaced apart, with flat edges, garnished on each side with a row of straight, stiff spines, imitating 2 superimposed crowns. Seeds 1-2 (-3) in each pod. 1.5-3 x 0.5 mm, oblong to semi-Iunate, brownish, smooth.
